Chapter III

I neglect this place.
There is a feeling of trepidation when I see this bookmark in Safari.
'Oh no, I have to think of a WHOLE NEW post!'
Zut!

But,
I need not think of anything special to post, because...

We have a new president-elect, ladies and gentlemen.
Barack Obama makes history as a young man who will become the first mixed race president in the history of these United States of America.
Whether or not you like/agree with him, you have to admire the fact that in forty years, we have overcome extreme racial prejudice to elect a half-black, half-white candidate.
However, I do not think race should be focused on. You should not see colour, you should see the person, which is basically one of the tenants of the civil rights movement.
I can't help but feel sorry for John McCain. I hope he continues to serve as a senator.
In fact, I was close to neutral in this election.
It was interesting to see reactions to the news last night. I prefer the Daily Show with Jon Stewart, and I was watching the Daily Show/Colbert Report Election Special, and when Jon Stewart interrupted Colbert to announce that Barack Obama is the president-elect, you could see how emotional he was. There was a hush in the audience, who was taken aback, and then erupted into cheers.
Charlie Gibson was also visibly emotional. Though whether in joy, regret, or mixed feelings, I do not know.
It humanizes suave and serious anchors.
Fox, of course, was as grim as Hades.

On the State of California front...
As many say, it is a sad, sad day.

Proposition 8 was passed.
This was a state constitutional amendment, correct me if I'm wrong, defining marriage as a union between a man and a woman. This would overturn the State Supreme Court's ruling.

The 'No on Prop 8' effort was large and many supported it, yet the Yes effort was also huge. You might be surprised that something like this would pass in a state considered to be so liberal like California, but you would be surprised. California is actually largely conservative, yet the way the districts are drawn up, the populous areas are mostly liberal, thus the electoral votes usually go to the Democratic presidential candidate.
But for state purposes, California has a strong Republican and conservative [the two are not the same] faction. Look at our governors-many were [and are] Republicans.
So people should not be too surprised, but it still is sad.
I mean it doesn't affect them. Why should they care? Just give them equal rights. I feel sorry gay people in that they are persecuted so heavily.

Based on today's LA Times [tis may have changed], Proposition 4 was trailing, which is good, in my opinion.

Proposition 2 has a sizable lead, which would interest my history teacher, who made it clear to our class yesterday..."YOU CAN'T COMPROMISE ON MORALITY!!!!!"
I think we know what she voted. :D

November 4, 2008.

This day should go down in history.

In eleven weeks, the worst president in recent times will have to step down. The nation collectively hopes that things will improve.

Welcome to Chapter III of the Millenium Years.

!

Hey...
So, my once-daily blog has been reduced to 5 posts, the last 3-4 months ago.
SO, a lot has been happening.
Yet not enough.
It feels as if I'm too scared to launch myself out there, to live, to enable myself to have fun. I really really want to, it's just that I'm scared of 'what others think.' Fimage.
It seems weird to publish what seems like a personal diary entry out there, especially when my page is linked to it, but maybe I just need to get it out there, you know, to get other people to realize I'm not some introverted loser, but I just need to warm up and get a chance to know people. Whatever. It's not like anyone sees this anyway.*
As you can see from the time, it is 'late.' But i am not insomniac today, or at least I haven't tested to see if i am yet, but I have a new experiment:
Me: NO bedtime, let's see how I am tomorrow, eh?
Mom: *shrugs shoulders* whatever.
translation: oho, we'll see how you really feel in the morning, won't we, 'honey'

I need a customary pic...or do I?
Ah, forget it, I can't find anything

But I do need to mention this; my fimage doesn't lead to my 'excessive conformity.' i'm not a poseur/poser, take your pick, I'm just too hesitant that I lose out. I am actually not that shy and introverted once you get to know me. And I hide everything behind a wall of sarcasm.

*if you actually do read this, don't hesitate to comment. please. i'm desperate. seriously.

Dance

I can't dance.
I am taking dance conditioning
i used to think I was flexible
[i was the only one who looked forward to sit & reach]
Now I think....
not so much.
It's pretty fun though
and the peoples are really nice
[Take pity on the non-dancer!]
I like dancing
[when no one is watching]
so hopefully
in
22 days
i shall get better

and it's fun seeing 684096824908649 fabled people
that you now have seen with your own eyes
to know
that they actually exist.

Regardez

BEHOLD:

Behold the pearl strands
that adorn the neck
Behold the hairsyle
The meant-to-be  sophisticated curl
Behold the earring
Yes it is visible
Google it
and
Behold the similar dress style
The color, the cut, the style.
Yet one is a wax figure of an icon
The other is a live iconic figure
Yet one can carry this look off.
And one cannot.

I really have nothing against Michelle Obama so far.
Yet it seems that she is trying to copy Jackie O's famous chic dressing.
Her husband, after all, is totuted to be the next JFK.

Jackie O brought this style tot he world's attention.
Michelle Obama is trying to subliminally replicate her image.

Yet forty years later she should coin her won style, not try to copy, which ends up looking tacky.

Oh well

While Watching Degrassi

While Watching Degrassi: TNG
Season 1 Episode 3
It's really good show.
I used to watch Phred with a 'Ph'
On The N/Noggin
And see all the ads for Degrassi
I used to think it was the most scandalous show ever
And then I started to watch it.
I was hooked.
Wikipedia, the-n.com, what not.
Now it's Season 1 Episode 8
I know some people who are obsessed
I haven't seen enough to qualify
:D
D:
The show is just plain good.
Canadian shows rock.

However, Phred with a 'Ph' still owns.

Insomnia

When you've drank a mug of Earl Gray
When it's 1.45 am
When you're supposed to be asleep
When it's summer vacation [thank god for that]
When you have nothing better to do
What do you do?
Create a blog, of course.
I don't have an insomnia
I'm just a caffeine addict who has a caffeine problem.
Hello.
